We were all sad when our friends left but thankfully we had something to look forward to a few days later because Uncle Pete arrived for his second visit to us. He took the girls tubing on the Chattahoochee River about one and a half hours north (sadly no photos, all cameras had to be kept dry and secure!) as well as rock climbing again. He also did his 'duty' taking the girls to the Six Flags Over Georgia theme park!
Moragh, Skander and Susan were able to go and visit the Martin Luther King Jr National Historic Site, which included the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where both he and his father were ministers, and his family home. It was an inspirational and moving experience.
Soon after our arrival back, our wonderful friends Moragh, Skander and Ella came from Sweden to stay with us. We had a fantastic time with them enjoying the hot Atlanta summer. They visited some of the city's top sites and we spent plenty of time at the pool every day.
On 16th July we arrived back in Atlanta after our summer trip, looking forward to our second year of living here. Our first appointment, once we'd slept off the jet lag, was at the Orthodontist; Both girls are now having treatment to achieve perfectly straight (American) teeth! But only in America do you get a free ice cream voucher and other treats including a t-shirt from the orthodontist! The girls also received free Yoghurtland vouchers for successfully completing the Summer Reading Program at the local library, so after the braces were fitted, it was time to celebrate!
