On Saturday 26th March the girls went to 'Egg Fest 2016' which was oganised by our local mega-church and took place at the private school situated at the end of our street. The event advertised 25 000 Easter Eggs to be 'hunted', and they weren't joking!
On Sunday 20th March the girls enjoyed Easter crafts and treats at Swedish School.
On Sunday 13th March we went to visit the local Girl Scout campsite (25 minutes drive away) which was having an open afternoon. We were curious to see the site as they offer weekly summer camps and we wondered whether this would be something the girls would enjoy during the holidays. We have learnt that summer camps of all themes, sizes and locations are the norm here in America so we wanted to find out more. After a personal tour of the beautiful campsite in the warmth (24 degrees!) by one of the counsellors, the girls announced that they definitely want to go to girl scout camp this summer! On Sunday 6th March, the girls were treated to a trip to Waffle House, another fast food chain, specialising in waffles obviously! They went with Sam, our fabulous babysitter who happens to live next door. Meanwhile, we got to go out for a wonderful meal.
Claudia won a gift card for a toy shop at the Bingo night so on Saturday we tracked down the toy shop and also visited an urban nature walk nearby. We didn't see any herons but we did spot some turtles and find a geocache.
On Friday evening we went to the PTA Bingo night at school. It was super fun with some rather impressive prizes from various local sponsoring companies.
